Details: Annual TWHS Art Scholarship Silent Auction and Art Show
The Woodlands High School Ann Marie Hopkins Art Alliance, a non-profit organization, invites the general public to join them for a student art show and silent auction on Thursday, May 3rd from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the TWHS lobby located at 6101 Research Forest Drive. Admission is free for the art show and silent auction. All proceeds generated from the silent auction will support college scholarships for qualifying senior TWHS art students and provide art supplies and equipment not covered by the budget.
Come view and buy outstanding art from award winning TWHS student and graduate artists! Silent Auction items include a wide range of art and gift baskets. Art featured will include a wide variety of media such as drawing, painting, watercolor, photography, mixed media, ceramic and more.
TWHS art students have won awards at local, state and regional levels. A few of the many competitions which they have garnered awards at are the Visual Art Scholastic Event, The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival, and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
TWHS seniors and graduates are pursuing careers in art and architecture at Pratt Institute, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Rhode Island School of Design, Brown University, Savannah College of Art and Design, Ringling College of Art & Design, The University of Texas, The University of North Texas, Texas State University, Columbus College of Art & Design, Pacific Northwest College of Art, Otis College of Art & Design, The University of Pennsylvania, UT Dallas, Texas A&M, Wentworth Institute of Technology, Wake Forest University and many other colleges.
The Ann Marie Hopkins Art Alliance is a non-profit 501 c (3) organization dedicated to supporting the fine art students and art department of The Woodlands High School located in The Woodlands, Texas. Their mission is to encourage excellence in the visual arts by providing enrichment opportunities, awarding college scholarships, creating partnerships with the local community, seeking support through grants and scholarships, and promoting awareness of the arts in the community and at The Woodlands High School. The organization has worked directly and indirectly with The Woodlands High School Art Trust, The Woodlands Art League, and The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival, as well as, various local elementary schools. Since its founding in 2008, The Ann Marie Hopkins Art Alliance has awarded over $24,000 in college scholarships, art supplies, and funding to students, organizations, and art programs.
